Stuart 2008 Review: Island Paradise!
Something most islands have in common is wonderful weather. Hutchinson Island, Florida, the location of Trawler Fest Stuart, was no exception, as attendees flocked to the island in record numbers. Our second year at the Hutchinson Island Marriott proved to be world class. The resort provided superior service, comfortable accommodations, and a boat show setting like no other.
Six PassageMaker University courses kicked off the event, and included topics such as Electrical Basics For The Boat Owner, Diesel Engine courses, and Medical Safety And Awareness. Trawler Fest followed PMU and was action-packed with seminars, roundtable discussions, and afternoon demonstrations. The exhibitor hall and marina were filled with interested cruisers checking out the wide variety of boats on display and products and services. In the evening, people wound down the day with cocktails and dinner and enjoyed evening festivities.
We are pleased to announce that PassageMaker Magazine’s People’s Choice was awarded to the Kadey-Krogen 48, Happy Feet, and that we raised $8,000 during the auction to benefit the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society!
