The Nordhavn 43: Redefining A Smaller Passagemaker
PAE's line of Nordhan trawlers is usually associated with hard-core passagemaking, offshore runs, and the serious end of trawlering. However, they fit much more than just the offshore passagmaking lifestyle. The new Nordhavn 43 is a perfect example of a boat that's built to go anywhere, but that's just as comfortable, and as fun, in inland and coastal waters. Between the equipment and layout that comes standard and the lengthy options list, this trawler is one that surely works with the lifestyle, however relaxed or intense it may be.

Cruising With More Demand Than Supply
A boat's generator can output only so much energy, and the more appliances and goodies you add to the boat, the more power will be required. When reader Raymond Auger added a washer/dryer to his Grand Banks, he found it was the "straw that broke the camel's back" with regard to managing onboard power. Lacking space to add a larger generator, he found a way to better monitor the amps his equipment was pulling from his generator. Check out his clever over-current alarm and see how you, too can be more energy aware!
