Trawler Fest San Diego, California

Trawler Fest returned to the Kona Kai Resort and Marina in San Diego for its second year this March 5-7. PassageMaker University preceded the cruising community’s celebration March 3 and 4.

With many well-qualified participants in attendance, the more than 50 in-water and land exhibitors were able to connect with potential customers. Some attendees included buyers looking to purchase their first cruising boat and current cruisers looking to upgrade their boats. Land exhibitors showcased the latest products and services to enhance one’s cruising experience.

Land exhibitor Global Boating graciously hosted a well-received reception of cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, adding to the excitement of Trawler Fest San Diego and celebrating the spirit of Southern California and the cruising-under-power community.

"We were delighted with the second year support and turn out for the San Diego Trawler Fest" said PassageMaker Magazine Publisher Rob Dorfmeyer. "The pre-registered attendees participating in the three days of seminars, receptions, and show were almost as strong as the previous year as this exciting event returned to San Diego. The success of this show was further underscored by the successful sale of three cruisers/trawlers and several other intent contracts signed or implied."

The coveted PassageMaker People’s Choice award was presented to the Nordhavn 64, Sweet Hope. Outfitted in a classic, smart, and, understated style, it boasts a wide-body saloon with teak joinery, granite countertops, and contemporary European appliances in the galley. Her pilothouse is exceptional with two helm chairs and all of the latest nav/com electronics. Sweet Hope is powered by a single engine dry stack exhaust with a cavernous engine room. The cockpit includes an eight-person dining arrangement aft with a built-in barbeque forward. The boat deck is home to her RIB tender and provides access to a very large flybridge that is protected with a fiberglass hard top.

If you were unable to join us in Southern California, Trawler Fest returns to the West Coast this May 20-22 (PassageMaker University May 18 and 19) in Anacortes, WA at the Cap Sante Haven. From Anacortes, Trawler Fest will bring the excitement to its new New England location, Warwick, RI July 15-17, and complete the 2010 season at the new Mid-Atlantic location, Baltimore, MD September 24-26. Three-day packages and a variety of seminar packages are available as well as single day general admission tickets. Click on the tabs to the left for more information. PassageMaker Magazine and Trawler Fest are looking forward to meeting our readers and all boating enthusiasts at the events!
