Hello!

In 1973, I bought a brand new Albin 25 with a sail rig. It is a great design and was built in Sweden at the time. I don't believe that they were ever built in the Far East, as all Albins are now. For several years, the Albin 25 served my young family of four very well and also helped me develop cruising skills that have been invaluable. Among other things, I learned not to be in a hurry and not to try to push a diesel engine beyond its optimum cruising speed. I also learned the value of a steadying sail in reducing roll and a host of other small things that, in the aggregate, help to make cruising a pleasure. Anyone looking for a true pocket cruiser would do well to pick up one of the 25s still around (and I have seen lots of them) and put whatever money into it as is needed to bring it back to Bristol condition.
