Rob Dorfmeyer | Publisher & General Manager
Rob Dorfmeyer, publisher of PassageMaker Magazine and of the well-regarded PassageMaker Events Series of person-to-person educational events around the U.S., is a native of the Midwest and the Great Lakes region who spent most of his childhood and his adult life in and around fresh water. Cruising and fishing was a way of life for him as a child, a way of life he has passed on to his daughters. He joined PassageMaker Magazine in July of 2007 to blend his publishing skills with his passion of boating and cruising. He has two adult daughters, one of which lives in Naples, Florida, while the other is finishing her college degree at Ohio University in Athens, Ohio.
His connection with the water includes extensive exploration of all the Great Lakes, and he has also cruised the ICW, Long Island Sound, the mid-Atlantic coast, Chesapeake Bay and the New York State canal system. As a long-time reader of PMM before joining the organization, he has always valued the in-depth technical, cruising destination and boat review coverage that made the book what it is today—the leading authority for those who contemplate cruising the U.S. coastlines, the Great Loop, or crossing oceans in search of global adventures.
