Great Lakes

The Great Lakes—Superior, Michigan, Huron, Erie and Ontario—comprise the largest freshwater system on Earth and span 750 miles of the U.S.—Canandian border. About a tenth of the U.S. population lives on the south side and a quarter of all Canadians on the north. The lakes can grow very rough very quickly because of prevailing east-west weather patterns, but, as you will read, the thoughtful mariner will find much to enjoy, including the spectacular Georgian Bay and North Channel areas of Ontario Province.
