Every TrawlerFest features seminars by honest-to-god cruisers relaying up-to-date cruising intelligence. At the Stuart fest in March, we feature Don and Denise Bermant, who will present a seminar “The Bahamas & Cuba: Cruising Grounds Compared.”
It’s a regular thing at Florida TrawlerFests to offer seminars on the Bahamas and seminars on Cuba. The difference with the Bermant talk is to impart information to other cruisers trying to decide on their itineraries. They will drill down on the plusses and minuses of the adjacent tropical destinations.
After four years of trying, Fleming 65 Blue Pearl became the first US flagged recreational vessel to be granted permission from the US government to stay in Cuba for an extended stay. The Bermants will discuss how they got their permission, what they learned in 60 days of cruising, and what wonders they discovered in their explorations. They will compare their experiences in Cuba to those they have enjoyed in extensive cruising the out islands of the Bahamas – adjacent island nations, separated not just by water, but geography, language, culture and history.
“The Bahamas & Cuba: Cruising Grounds Compared" happens Sunday, March 11, 10:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
You can enjoy the Bahamas-Cuba seminar and a boatload of others for single price. Every seminar except the diesel course and “Boat Handling on the Water” are part of our VIP package. Being a four- or six-day VIP gives you access their choice of attending any seminar (except the Diesel engine and on-the-water boat handling course). The cost is $399 for a four-day VIP pass and $499 for the six-day pass. Visit our ticketing site and do some math. You'll see how being a VIP maximizes your seminar buying power.
