A TrawlerFest tradition continues at Bay Bridge Marina next week with “Cruisers’ Perspectives: A Town Hall Meeting” with Circumnavigator Bruce Kessler, joined by six other veteran voyagers. This is the only seminar held during the afternoon during the boat show portion of TrawlerFest.
Kessler can discuss what its like to spend months and months treading bluewater, not to mention the virtues of Downeast Maine.
Speaking of Downeast Maine, those are home waters to Ben Ellison, our electronics editor and a experienced cruiser in his own right.
Surveyor Dylan Bailey is a liveaboard who learned to build boats with his father.
Offshore mariner Denny Emory is expert on offshore emergencies and medicine.
John Clayman is a prominent East Coast yacht broker, cruiser and all around boat guy.
Steve Zimmerman can discuss repairs and boatyards from the point of view of both a cruiser and boatyard owner.
And Chris Parker is an experienced cruiser and weather router par excellence for cruiser going down island.
Former PassageMaker Editor Peter Swanson will moderate and occasionally throw in his two cents.
“Cruisers’ Perspectives” will happen 3:30-5:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 2. It ends just in time for “Dinner & A Movie Night,” featuring the 1977 classic film “Riddle of the Sands.”
The TrawlerFest boat show and seminar series runs Tuesday through Sunday, Sept. 29-Oct. 4. The boat show runs Thursday through Sunday, Oct. 1-4, and includes booths displaying marine products and services. You may also call 954.703.4789 or email us at Trawlerfest@passagemaker.com
