Generally, if you see a bar report calling for 10 to 12 foot seas you don't head for the docks, you head back to bed or on to some other land based activity. But not if you serve on a surf certified motor lifeboat in the United States Coast Guard. When the bar report comes back for 10-12 foot seas; it's time for surf drills. Check out this video from the USCG Oregon Inlet station of two of their 47' motor lifeboats taking part in surf drills. It looks like a wild ride, but I think I'll continue to remain dockside on days like this!
