Dave Livingston, lead designer and head of engineering at Fluid Motion LLC. was awarded the "Legend" award by the Northwest Marine Trade Association last month.
The legend award is the NMTA's highest honor and is given to individuals who have significantly contributed to the evolution of the recreational boating industry. Livingston is the is only the sixth person to be recognized in the award's prestigious 20-year history.
“It is remarkable what Dave has done for recreational boating and we are honored to present our most prestigious award to him,” said NMTA President George Harris. “Dave is one of the most accomplished boat designers in the world.”
Before joining the team at Fluid Motion, the makers of Cutwater Boats and Ranger Tugs, Livingston had a hand in designing boats for Bayliner, Reinell, Wellcraft, Regal, and others, including the renown nautical-namesake, the Livingston Dinghy.
The Cutwater/Ranger Tug newsletter reports that there are more Livingston designed or modified boat on the water than any other designer.
The NMTA is the nation's largest, regionl trade association and includes boat dealers, boat brokers, marinas, boat yards, manufacturers, retailers and suppliers of boating accessories, and marine service providers. The MNTA also produces the annual Seattle Boat Show.
