The National Hurricane center is keeping an eye on Tropical Storm Bertha, which is currently located just east of the Lesser Antilles.

As of Friday at 2 p.m. EST, NOAA has issued a summary of warnings, watches and advisories in effect for the following locations.

Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for:

  • St. Lucia
  • Dominica
  • Martinique
  • Puerto Rico
  • Vieques
  • Culebra
  • U.S. Virgin Islands
  • British Virgin Islands

A Tropical Storm Watch is is effect for:

  • The Eastern Dominican Republic from Cabo Frances Viejo to Isla Saona

Tropical Storm Warnings indicate the storm conditions are expected somewhere within the warning area within the next 24 hours. Watches indicate the conditions are not yet present but are possible within the next 48 hours.

NOAA reports that interests elsewhere across the Northeastern Caribbean Sea and Hispaniola should monitor the progress of Bertha as the system is not expected to dissipate in the next five days.
