West Marine has named Navico as Vendor of the Year for 2013 as part of the company’s annual Very Important Vendor, or VIV awards for the third year in a row.
“We are truly honored that West Marine has recognized Navico as Vendor of the Year,” said Leif Ottosson, Navico’s chief operating officer. “Winning two years in a row was unprecedented – [sic] third time is simply amazing.”
Navico is the world’s largest marine electronics company with approximately 1,500 employees worldwide and a distribution the reaches over 100 countries. Electronics brands Simrad, Lowrance, Northstar, Eagle and B&G are all a part of the part of the Navico family.
“This recognition is a continued testament to our strides for innovation in product development, unparalleled support, unmatched warrantee programs and, most importantly, the most knowledgeable, dedicated, and hardest working teams in the industry,” Ottosson said.
Headquartered in Watsonville, California, West Marine has over 300 stores located in 38 states across the United State. Along with franchises in Canada, Puerto Rico and Turkey, West Marine makes up the world’s largest retailer of boating supplies and accessories.
