Boats Crushed; Crew Believed Trapped

A bridge collapsed in northeastern Taiwan today, crushing several fishing boats in the harbor below; several crew members were believed trapped, according to CNBC news.

Meanwhile seven of the nine people who fell into the water were rescued, CNBC quoted the Taiwan’s Central News Agency as saying. Six people were injured seriously.

Yesterday typhoon Mitag swept past northeastern Taiwan with winds of up to 100 mph.
