Great Lakes region Nordic Tug dealer Bay Breeze Yacht Sales said it started a Nordic Tug charter and trawler school.
“Since we became a dealer in 2002, we’ve been asked time and again if we’d consider chartering or teaching on a Nordic Tug,” Jay Kraft, of Bay Breeze, said in a statement.
Bay Breeze, of Traverse City, Michigan, said it purchased a Nordic Tug 32 last fall, specifically for charters and training, and the dealership said it recently finished an extensive refit of many of the boat’s systems and equipment.
“The refit was important in order to provide our charter guests with up-to-date equipment, plus we wanted to give our trawler students a top-notch experience because they stay onboard the boat during their class in order to get a better feeling of the trawler cruising experience,” Kraft said.
Bay Breeze said it is also certified as a regional training and educational center for US Powerboating.
“We have tailored the US Powerboating classes, Basic Powerboat Cruising (BPC) and Inshore Powerboat Cruising (IPC), into a four-day combo course to emphasize trawler handling, maintenance, design, ownership responsibilities and management,” Kraft said.
The dealership said trawler school and charter dates are still available this year.
