Dreamt up by Connecticut-based the Nordic Tug specialists, Wilde Yacht Sales, the first, and potentially annual, Nordic Tugfest will hit the ICW this coming October.

With offices in Essex, Connecticut, and Rock Hall, Maryland, the cruise aims to provide resources, educational seminars, and rendezvous events across five popular ICW stops to Nordic Tug owners.

Kicking of on Sunday, October 23 with a cookout at the firm’s Maryland location, the rally will make 12 stops in total, including: Beaufort, North Carolina, and Charlestown, South Carolina, as well as Daytona and Key Largo, Florida, before concluding in Marathon by the end of November.

"We plan on providing each Captain with the resources necessary to make this trip enjoyable and interesting," said Ben Wilde in a press release. "Hats and T-shirts will be provided to each boat. Also, the best Cruising Guides for this trip will be provided to all vessels for information starting with the 2016 Chesapeake Bay Cruising Guide."

As an added bonus, Chesapeake Bay Magazine is also giving each boat in attendance a copy of their 2017 Atlantic Coast Planning and Facilities Guide.

Wilde and his personal Nordic Tug 54, Nordic Lady, will serve as the lead boat for much of the cruise, with Tom Callan of Yachtmasters along for the ride to provide information and expertise to fellow tug captains.

Though cruising plan is in place, Tugfest is designed to have several free-days built in for added exploration. Wilde encourages Nordic Tug owners of all cruising capabilities to join him and his crew for all or part of the cruise.

"Wilde Yacht Sales plans on leaving their boat in the Keys for the winter," Wilde said. "There are many, many great places to leave your boat along the way if you do not desire to make the entire trip to the Keys."

A limited number of spots are available (25 total), and those that wish to attend are asked to contact Wilde Yacht Sales Connecticut office by calling (860) 767-2540. For more details, click here to read the event flyer or visit: www.wildeyachtsales.com
