Zimmerman Marine has announced a partnership with Southport Marina located in Southport, N.C., to open their 4th service and repair facility and will host an open house October 26th, 2013 on location.
“As veterans in the marine industry for over 32 years, it’s a thrilling opportunity for Zimmerman Marine to bring our experience and capabilities to this well regarded marina,” said president Steve Zimmerman in a press release.
The jointly hosted open house will from 2 – 5 p.m. and will feature two marine expert roundtable discussions and music from Wilmington band No Dollar Shoes.
Starting at 3p.m., Steve Zimmerman will moderate an “Ask the Experts” roundtable aiming to give attendees a chance to get to know the capabilities and expertise Zimmerman Marine brings to Southport Marina. The second, “Heading South from Southport – Follow the ICW or Go Outside”, will be led by Winston Fowler from The Salty Southeast Cruiser’s Net website and founding editors of PassageMaker magazine, Bill and Laurene Parlatore.

Started in 1981, Zimmerman Marine offers custom and semi-custom boat building services for power and sail vessels ranging from 16 to 56 feet in cold molded wood or composite constructions and offers their own line of downeast-style cruisers. The company also offers a slew of service, repair and inspection services to clients the covers “everything from minor repairs to major refits.”
